A true ‘winter warmer’ and a staple of many German households - the humble yet filling Gulaschsuppe.
Packed with beef chunks, paprika, onions, carrots, stock, and tomatoes, the stew can be left blipping away on the heat for hours, intensifying flavours and leaving soft chunks of meat in the hearty stew. Vegetarians can swap in some butternut for the beef or even add pearl barley which soaks up flavour and adds a nice earthy chew to the dish. Serve with a nice hunk of break for dipping.
